Story : "I met an Angel"
I met an Angel
I was returning home after finish my daily evening walk when I met a stranger , a 4/5 yrs girl who is studying Sri Rakum convent school in Jakkur at Jr Kg & her mother is a maid/cook of some of my neighbour. She came with her mother only, and waiting for her mother under securities supervision. They came from Basirhat, West Bengal. The baby girl talks clearly with sweat voice. She was carrying affectionately a one eyed red hair doll. I was quite smitten by her personality. But I went to her for conversation for another reason. I have seen that she is busy in searching something infront of the gate very seriously. So , I enquired what about :
Me: Hey! What's your name?
...... (no reply)
Me: No name? Oh , you do not have any name, right??
Girl: giggling.... Did you see anybody without name? I am Srimati. Everybody call me Mithu at home. What's your name?
Me: Pubali. Do you go to school?
Girl: Hmm. I go to Sri Rakum School. Jr Kg. I am learning dancing too in the school. I go to school daily morning. Only sunday is holiday.....( paused for few seconds for breath).... When do you go to school?
Me: I don't go to school. I send my son .
Girl: Son!!!! You are a Maa?
Me: Yes. I have a big boy.
Girl: Then why don't you were saree or salwar - kameez? Shame , shame! You were a pant - shirt like a girl(???!!!!)...
Me: ( laughed)
( She was busy continuously in searching something then also during our conversation)
Me: What are you searching so seriously?
Girl: Soberness .
Me: What? What is that?
Girl: Elders of my house were chatting yesterday with sadness. I asked the reason to my Maa. And she replied me that we lost our Soberness in behaviour.
Me: Why do you search here, infront of the gate?
Girl: My maa is coming here daily. I think she lost the Soberness somewhere here, because I searched every nook of my home.
Me: Soberness is a quality of our character where you can express yourself generously with kindness. Like you are talking to me sweetly, that's your Soberness.
Girl : Ohh... I heard Mahatma Gandhi was very kind in school. Means he was sober?
Me: Offcourse.
Girl: Why all are sad then?
Me: I think they were talking about all disturbances in your hometown to Bengal. Girl: We will bring the soberness in Bengal.
Me: (laughed)
Girl: Don't laugh aunty. I learned drops of drops waters make water reservoir, lake, sea in the school. Then why not each one of us personally started behaving soberly , then automatically no one could be angry, jealous; and all will start loving each other & we will get back our Soberness!!
A small innocent heart taught me the biggest lesson of life where she doesn't know what she said in pkayful mode, and I also don't know what to say in reply!!! And yes, her determination forced me to promise not to see any circumstances with negative vibes but to move forward with simple solutions .
