Maa Siddhidatri : the Goddess of Supernatural Powers The ninth day of Navratri, dedicated to Maa Siddhidhatri. Siddhi means supernatural power or meditative ability, and Dhatri means giver or awarder. Maa Siddhidhatri is seen sitting on a lotus or riding a lion. It's believed that one side of Lord Shiva’s body is that of Maa Siddhidatri; therefore, he is also known by the name of Ardhanarishwara. According to Vedic scriptures, Lord Shiva attained all the siddhis by worshiping this Devi Maa Siddhidhatri. Maa Siddhidhatri has eight forms of Siddhis – Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva. It is believed that the goddess offered these siddhis to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva to help them carry out their duties.
